LAI, YONG-FA - Wood Carver
Born in Chiayi County in 1959.
Lai Yong Fa was fascinated by aesthetics and art since he was a child. After graduating from elementary school, he left his hometown alone and went to Hsinchu to learn wood carving techniques under teacher Xu Jin Xiang.
Wood carving is a profession that requires care and patience to acquire professional skills. Starting from the use and maintenance of tools, and understanding the characteristics of different woods, Lai Yong Fa's skills continued to grow under the strict teaching of his master. Despite the hardships of life during that time, he continued to learn woodcarving with a prudent attitude, relying on his great enthusiasm for woodcarving. Now he is a master, but he still insists on working earnestly day after day, doing what he should do every moment.
On the road of art, Lai Yong Fa has never set limits for himself. He firmly believes that his learning of sketches, traditional Chinese paintings, calligraphy, 3D design drawings, gardening landscapes, potted plants, and other fields can internalize inspiration and skills. Through those different paths, he can approach his ideal goal step by step.
Traditional woodcarving is not only Lai Yong Fa's specialty but also his life. Wandering in the creative world in his studio is the pleasure he enjoys the most in his life. Today, in addition to continuing to create new works, he also wants to pass down all his knowledge and techniques to young people. It is hoped that the two generations can carve out a new chapter together in the future.

賴永發 — 木雕師
嘉義縣人，民國四十八年生，大專畢業。
幼時即對美學、藝術領域非常有興趣，且有異於同齡人的敏感度，故國小畢業即獨身離鄉背井到新竹拜入 許錦相 老師門下。
在木雕這個專業領域裡，細節瑣碎繁複，工具的使用具有危險性，是非常需要細心、耐心才能習得專業技術的一門職業。
憑藉著對木雕極大的熱情，即使師傅的教導嚴厲，過程也經歷生活的辛苦，賴永發仍用謹慎的態度持續學習雕刻，從工具的使用與維護、認知木材特性等基礎開始琢磨，至今仍然堅持慢工出細活，日復一日細水長流地做好當下的一刻一鑿。
在藝術的這條路上，賴永發從不侷限自己，素描、國畫、書法、立體的3D設計圖、園藝造景、盆栽…等，堅信多元領域的學習都能將其中的靈感與技術內化，使自己離心中所嚮往的藝術之巔更加接近。
傳統木雕技藝是賴永發先生的專業，也是他的生活，在小小的工作室，徜徉在大大的創作世界裡，是他畢生最享受的樂趣；現在的賴永發先生，除了持續將情感注入新的作品裡，也想將自己的理念、技術傳承給下一代及其他後進，盼兩個世代在將來能共同刻鑿出全新篇章。

ZENG, MEI-HUA - Bamboo Weaver
Born in Hsinchu. Zeng Mei Hua is currently the person in charge of the Zhu Feng Art Gallery, which was established in 1996.
In 1990, she moved to Sanyi with her husband Lai Yong Fa, and established "Lai Yong Fa Woodcarving Studio". She has contributed a lot to the management of the studio from day one. However, it is not the only thing she can be mentioned, she has her own uniqueness in her artistic attainments and concepts.
In 2012, this couple took the college entrance examination together in order to improve themselves. During this period, Zeng Mei Hua not only showed her talent in painting skills but also acquired relevant knowledge of bamboo weaving, tea art, pottery, and other professional subjects. It was also at that time that she fell in love with the elegance and integrity of bamboo.
After the second son returned home and inherited Mr. Lai's woodcarving skills in 2014, Zeng Mei Hua was able to delve deeper into bamboo art. In addition to enrolling in courses to learn various weaving skills, she also put a lot of effort into the pre-processing of bamboo weaving. From collecting materials from Nantou, the hometown of bamboo, to cleaning and cutting bamboo, all the processes are done by her hands, just to welcome the birth of the most satisfactory finished product.

曾美華 — 竹藝師
新竹人，現為竹風藝品館（設立於1996年）負責人。
1990年隨丈夫 賴永發移居至三義成立「賴永發木雕工作室」，時至今日曾美華女士對於工作室的經營打理絕對是功不可沒，但對於藝術的造詣與理念亦有其獨到之處。
2012年賢伉儷為求精進一起報考進入大專就讀，期間曾美華除展現其美術繪畫的功底，也習得竹編、茶藝、陶藝等多項專業科目的相關知識，也是在當時愛上竹的風雅與氣節。
隨者兩個兒子成人獨立，且2014年二兒子返鄉傳承先生的木雕技術後，曾美華女士得以更加深入鑽研竹藝，自行報名課程學習多樣的編織技巧之餘，在竹材前置作業處理方面也下足功夫，自竹子的故鄉－南投取材，清洗、剖竹皆不假他人之手，親自操作每個步驟，只為了迎接自己最滿意的成品誕生。

LAI, JYUN-WEI - Wood Carver
Lai Jyun Wei was born in Hsinchu in 1988. His father is Lai Yong Fa, a senior in the woodcarving industry. As a child, Lai Jyun Wei was once injured by his curiosity about woodcarving tools, however, he was not afraid of them. Instead, he still maintained an interest in making a unique wooden knife of his own.
In 2007, Lai Jyun Wei left Sanyi to study at a university in Tainan and worked there for several years. Later, he felt that his parents were getting older, and the traditional woodcarving industry really lacked new blood. Worrying that no one would carry on his father's skills, Lai Jyun Wei made up his mind to return to Sanyi to learn traditional woodcarving from his father in 2014.
Just like his father's learning experience, Lai Jyun Wei started learning from the basics. From the understanding of different woods, the selection of tools, the idea of the subject, the draft of the picture, and various carving skills, to the polishing, painting, and installation of the base after carving, Lai Jyun Wei spent a long time and put a lot of efforts to the ability to complete every woodcarving process independently.
Lai Jyun Wei mainly focuses on exotic wood carvings and covers themes such as Bodhidharma, lotus, dragons, etc. He won the "Yulong Wood Sculpture Legacy Award" for his work "Blossoming" in the "2021 Taiwan International Wood Sculpture Competition - Craft Wood Sculpture Category".
Due to the different characteristics of each piece of wood, there is always something new to gain. Although Lai Jyun Wei has reached a milestone, he is not slacking off. On the other hand, he seeks differences for each piece. Meanwhile, like his father, with a sense of mission of inheritance, he has participated in a number of woodcarving teaching projects, teaching students of different ages in accordance with their aptitude. In the process of teaching and learning, he hopes to find more like-minded people to join this industry together.

賴俊暐 — 木雕師
1988年出生於新竹，父親為木雕界的前輩 賴永發，沐浴於各式木質芬芳的成長過程中，小時候的賴俊暐曾因對木藝工具的好奇而受傷，但他不因此害怕，反而相當感興趣於做出一把屬於自己獨一無二的木刀。
大學時期賴俊暐離開三義前往台南就讀，並於當地工作數年，後有感於家中父母逐漸年長，且傳統木雕這項技藝確實相當缺乏新血注入，恐父親的畢生絕學無人傳承，故於2014年決心返鄉與父親學習木雕技藝。
如同父親曾經刻苦的學習經歷，賴俊暐自基礎學起，從木材的認識、工具的選擇、題材發想、畫面構圖、雕刻的各式技法，到雕刻後的打磨、底漆、面漆、安底座，賴俊暐用相當長的時間及堅持不懈地努力，換得每道工序皆可獨立完成的能力。
賴俊暐創作至今，達摩、荷花、龍、奇木巧雕皆有涉略，並於「2021臺灣國際木雕競賽 工藝木雕類組」以作品《綻放》榮獲「裕隆木雕薪傳獎」的肯定。
學習木雕的過程就像是開啟一個一個寶箱，總會因著每塊木材的特性不同而有新的收穫，雖然賴俊暐達成了一個里程碑，但並不因此懈怠，仍在每個作品間求新求變；同時也跟父親一樣帶著傳承的使命感，參與多項木雕教學案，針對不同年齡層的學員因材施教，希望在教學相長的過程中，也能找到更多志同道合的人一起窺探這個產業的寶藏。
